I was so excited for this book to come out! I was counting down the days and then, made the biggest mistake ever. I started reading it at midnight. I went to work at 8 a.m. pretty much useless, then continued to hide and read the rest of the book!! I am actually daring to say this is my new favorite book. Ever. Seriously.
Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…
This is not your average love story. As we learn more about this unique cast of characters, the story becomes more complex. I had to put my iPad down once and think about what I just read. I actually said out loud. "how is this gonna work?"
This story is beautiful. That is the best way to describe it. It's heartbreaking, warming and thrilling, but not sappy and cheesy. Sometimes thats a hard thing to balance. Their circumstances forced the plot to take a totally original path, and I loved it.
My stomach was in knots, I cried and I laughed. I can't remember the last I was so utterly immersed and in head over heels. The story is intimate and sensual, but not in a sexual and graphic way.
"I failed first."
